A ‘Bucket List’ trip – Paris, France

Blog - 3

Do you have a “Bucket List”?   Things you want to do, people you want to meet, places you want to visit – before your time is up?   Admittedly, I do and one of those places I want to visit is Paris.

A friend of mine recently took this trip, with her best friend.  Just two ladies who made the decision to make this once-in-a-lifetime jaunt.  Regular everyday people who just sat down and made the decision to go for it.   Of course, there was planning and saving and things of that nature, but they somehow came across an absolutely great deal – airfare from the States and two weeks hotel accommodations for roughly $1000.   It could have been the time of year (Spring), it could’ve been the hotel was having a promotion with special rates, or it could have been blind luck.  But they jumped at the chance!

They stayed in a little boutique hotel, in the heart of Paris.   Each day they visited different landmarks and areas of the city.   Each day they tried new restaurants and different food.   Each day they experienced Paris and all it has to offer.

Each day I watched for photos from her travels on social media, marveling over the magnificence of the Eiffel Tower, the eerily solemn nature of the crypts and cemeteries, the brilliance of the Louvre, or the majesty of Notre Dame.     This only strengthened my resolve to get there in person one day soon.

What are the places on your Bucket List?   I wrote about my others here.   Perhaps you’ve been to one – would you recommend it to a fellow traveler?
